Marathon for Mitch

Hello all.
Following the sudden and untimely death of Mitchell Cole last year I have decided to run this Year's London Marathon for the charity that Mitch had been doing some work with right up until he passed away. The charity is called the Cardiomyopathy Association. Mitchell Cole was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy as a teenager, but went on to have a very successful career as a professional footballer. The severity of his condition was never really fully appreciated until he joined us and was referred for further tests, resulting in Mitch retiring from football at the age of 25. Cardiomyopathy is the most common casue of sudden death in people under the age of 39.
This YouTube video, which includes Mitch speaking at a conference last summer in America, was the reason I decided to contact the CMA and see if I could run for them. I found it very moving. The CMA are a charity that provides information and support to families affected by the heart muscle disease cardiomyopathy. This charity were very accommodating when I contacted them about the potential for doing the marathon for them as they all knew Mitch very well and were devastated by his death. They offered me a golden bond place for the London Marathon, and I need to raise a minimum of £1500. I am running this in conjunction with my partner, Leanne, who already had a ballot entry place and is keen to raise money for the CMA too. So, this is where the incredible OUFC family come in!! I've already contacted Tim at The Priory about doing some collections, fund raising efforts, having collection boxes in the pub etc, and as always he's been fantastic. I'm hoping to get permission from the club to do a pre-match collection too. If anyone else has any ideas then please get in touch.
